Currently feeling this music

And,
life in Italy is peaceful at the moment.
However,
I have a lot of work to do in order to graduate in June.
So really this is the calm before the storm.

JOT

Before I forget,
I would like to jot down the fact
that Tivoli in November is...

Well...

Perfect.

Please add Visit Villa d'Este to your bucket list.
You know that word people sometimes use... regret?
Yeah, you won't have that.

November is golden

I've been trying to think of something I enjoy
as much as Fall Fashion Week.

And it's hard to fit it into a category...
Maybe somewhere between chocolate and Paris?

Maybe it has it's own category.

Venting

I am lonely as a pelican in the wilderness,
as an owl in the ruins,
as a sparrow alone on the rooftop;
I do not sleep.

All day long my enemies taunt me,
they burn with anger and use my name as a curse.
I make ashes my bread, I mix tears with my drink,
because of your anger and reproach —
you, who raised me up, have dashed me to the ground.

Paris in black and white

These sticky hot Philadelphia days
have me wishing it was December already
and that I could be back in Paris, with
my camera and a LOT of time to waste!

Luckily I have my pictures to help me remember,
and every time I look through them I get the same
nostalgic feeling, provoking me to slip on my black pumps
and fly back to the city of blinding lights...

My body is here but my mind is in Europe

Today I have been planning out where I'd like to travel to when I am back in Europe.
Checking out ticket prices, scanning through pictures on google,
and most importantly figuring out how I need to control my money in Rome
to be able to make these trips happen.

Because the truth is, though I have been lucky enough to see a lot of the world,
I don't have a tree that grows dollar bills (or in my case euros).
I have to start saving money waay ahead of time,
and find the cheapest flight and the cheapest pension out there. Then I pounce!

I also happen to go to an Italian school (not an American school like many expats in Rome)
So my annual tuition is surprisingly affordable.
Teaching English lessons every week also leaves me with a little extra spending money.
I am not one  to buy expensive bags and shoes (I buy my Marc Jacobs on eBay)
All of my money is for travel.

And so after being home in Philadelphia for a month, I am already thinking and planning where I will go this coming year.
Beyond next June, my path is fairly uncertain, which is nerve racking and exciting at the same time.
Will I be coming to America and starting a job in DC, will I get an internship in Atlanta as a photojournalist?
Or will I stay in Europe?

I wish I knew for sure but as of right now, all I can do is do my best in school, work as hard as I can at the UNESCO internship,
And use long weekends to see as much more as I can of this beautiful world!
I am very much a city girl, but I am feeling like a want these next travels to be spent more in countryside
Discovering the natural beauties of Europe.

The only place I know for certain that I will be going is Kilarney Ireland, for two weeks in September, to visit my godparents.
After that who knows, but hopefully I'll be spending the next few months in some of these beautiful places...

*sigh*
I'm reaching for the stars here
lucky for me in Italy the stars don't seem so far away.
